BG Cho previously served as the Deputy Commanding General for Support, United States Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) and the first Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (G-3/5/7) at MEDCOM. BG Cho also served as Commander of the 30th Medical Command, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army, Heidelberg, Germany; and Commander, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, which includes mission command of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, six U.S. Army Health Clinics, and one U.S. Army Health Center with locations in Germany, Italy, and Belgium. He has also served as Chief, Healthcare Business Operations, J3, Joint Task Force Capital Medical Region (JTF CapMed); Commander, Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO; Deputy Commander for Clinical Services, Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC, and Chief of Surgical Services, 212th MASH while deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I. His other key assignments include Commander, Andrew Rader U.S. Army Health Clinic, Fort Myer, VA; Assistant Chief, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Chief, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Medical Director U.S. Army School of Perfusion, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC; and Commander, 150th Medical Detachment, Camp Carroll, Republic of Korea. BG Cho is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD. He completed residencies in General Surgery at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Aurora, CO, and Cardiothoracic Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. BG Cho also completed subspecialty fellowship training in pediatric and complex adult cardiothoracic surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He is a 2008 graduate of the U.S. Army War College where he received a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies. BG Cho is Board Certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds active membership in the Society of Thoracic Surgery, and is a Certified Physician Executive of the American College of Physician Executives. Brigadier General Cho’s 30 publications, grants, and abstracts include two of the world’s largest series in cardiac surgery and from 2006 to 2010 he was the Consultant to the Army Surgeon General in Cardiothoracic Surgery. |
