DESCRIPTION:Military Affairs Forum works to enhance communication and opportunities between the civilian community and defense installations.  During the event we will hold community updates\, networking and listen to a keynote update.\n\n\n\nSpeaker: \n\nBRIGADIER GENERAL KENNETH A. BORCHERS Brigadier General Borchers is the Director\, Joint Staff for the Washington National Guard located on Camp Murray\, Washington. As the Director\, he is responsible for leading a 50 member Joint Staff in planning\, training\, exercise and execution for an all-hazards Washington National Guard response. He has operational oversight of the 10th Homeland Response Force\, 10th Civil Support Team\, a Counter Drug Task Force\, the Washington State Guard\, and a robust State Partnership Program with Malaysia and Thailand. Designated as the Washington National Guard's Joint Task Force Dual-Status Commander\, he is on-call for Command and Control with civil support\, building partnerships with civilian agencies across the state. General Borchers entered the Air Force in January of 1992 as a traditional guard enlisted command and control specialist with the 111th Air Support Operations Center\, Washington Air National Guard\, Camp Murray. He was selected for commission as an intelligence officer in 1996. Shortly after graduation from intelligence training he became the full-time Senior Intelligence Officer for the 305th Rescue Squadron\, Air Force Reserve Command\, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base\, Arizona. While a member of the 305th\, he deployed on numerous occasions in support of Operation NORTHERN WATCH\, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH\, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM\, and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
