My wife and I own Homewatch CareGivers in Tacoma. Our caregiving journey began in 2003 when my brother (living in Washington, D.C.) and I provided drop in long-distance care for our parents in Ohio after my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Like most seniors, my parents wanted to stay in the home where they had raised their kids on a beautiful farm. Sadly, my brother passed away from an extended illness in 2006, and it was then that I first learned of professional caregivers who were there for my brother in his final days. My mother’s health deteriorated and she needed to leave the family home after my father died in 2009. The best choice was for her move in with my family. After 7 years of caring for my mother I decided to create something to help seniors as they age and keep them in their own homes on their terms. My goal is to make a difference in our seniors’ lives. With this mission in mind, Homewatch CareGivers of Tacoma was born.
